UFC 211 Miocic vs Dos Santos

UFC 211 Miocic vs Dos Santos

The octagon will return to Dallas, Texas on May 14 for UFC 211. The pay-per-view event is headlined by a heavyweight title fight rematch featuring current champ Stipe Miocic taking on former title holder Junior dos Santos.

Miocic and dos Santos first met in December of 2014 with the Brazilian emerging victorious via unanimous decision in what was a very close fight.

The heavyweight title scrap is not the only championship bout on the card, as current UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her strap against surging Brazilian contender Jessica Andrade.

The UFC’s top welterweight contender Demian Maia will also see action at UFC 211 when he takes on rising star Jorge Masvidal. Former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez will also return at the event where he will meet perennial division contender Dustin Poirier. If that wasn’t enough, UFC 211 also includes a key featherweight fight between former title challenger Frankie Edgar and rising star Yair Rodriguez.

WOLFMOTHER Present their long awaited National 'Gypsy Caravan Tour' with Special Guests!!

Having spent the majority of 2016 touring & selling out theatres, stadiums & festivals throughout the world including North & South America, Europe, the UK & Scandinavia, Wolfmother finally return to Australia for the home leg of their 'Gypsy Caravan' tour (& their first full national album tour since the release of 2009's 'Cosmic Egg'). With an extensive history & career, including multi platinum sales, ARIA, Grammy & other award nods too numerous to mention, Wolfmother released album number 4, 'Victorious' in 2016 to rave reviews & enthusiastic international response resulting in the aforementioned extended world tour.

Led by vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother have amassed a global fanbase, played to packed-house crowds around the world, delivered show-stealing sets at star-studded festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza and Reading and Leeds, and have been invited to share stages with rock icons Aerosmith and AC/DC. For their induction into the UK Music Hall of Fame, Led Zeppelin personally invited Wolfmother as their guests (the band showed their appreciation by delivering an electrifying cover of “Communication Breakdown”). For most artists, such accomplishments usually mark the culmination of a career – if they’re lucky.

But ten years after their arrival, Wolfmother have returned with what could arguably be called their best work to date. With Victorious, Stockdale once again arrives right on time: in an era dominated by single-song downloads, this is an album worthy of repeat listens from top to bottom. Following 2009’s Cosmic Egg and 2014’s New Crown, the much anticipated Victorious (Universal Music Enterprises) is an electrifying testament to the range and depth of Stockdale’s artistry. Recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles with two-time Grammy winning producer Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Bruce Springsteen), the songs are edgy, inventive and uncompromising and rank among the band’s best ever.

With their return home, Wolfmother recently performed a series of stadium dates across Australia as guests of behemoth rock legends, Guns N' Roses (which also included GnR shows in USA, Singapore & New Zealand)Finally, Wolfmother return to home stages headlining their own shows

GRINSPOON ANNOUNCE 27-DATE NATIONAL TOUR TO CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF ‘GUIDE TO BETTER LIVING’

Post-grunge Aussie rockers, Grinspoon have today announced a 20th Anniversary deluxe edition of the album that kickstarted their long-standing music career, Guide To Better Living, alongside an epic 27-date national tour of Australia, playing the album cover to cover for fans.

It’s 1995. A band from Lismore named Grinspoon (named after Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Dr Lester Grinspoon who supported the medicinal use of marijuana) submitted the track, Sickfest to triple j’s Unearthed national band comp in its inaugural year. To everyone’s amazement, they won - and for the next two months the song was the station’s number one request. Fast forward to September 1997, signed to Universal Music’s Grudge imprint, Grinspoon released their debut album, Guide To Better Living.

Twenty years later – with the album chalking up a double decade of acclaim – the band are emerging from hiatus to celebrate their debut album with the Guide To Better Living tour, playing the album cover to cover across June-September 2017, alongside a selection of later favourites from their albums that followed.

Candidly chatting about the 20th anniversary of their monumental debut release, vocalist Phil Jamieson jests, “I hate nostalgia, it gets my goat. What I do love are tunes, and we’ve got tunes! NBT - Balding Matters - Scalped are probably what are considered to be album tracks or ‘filler’, but I can’t wait to spit ‘em out with as much venom as I did as a 19 year old. Then there is Railroader - Repeat - Just Ace - Champion - Boundary …. it’s like a little treasure box of ditties! I don’t think I really knew what I was doing when I made Guide To Better Living, but I know that playing this album from start to finish is going to be one of the most challenging, enjoyable & kickass things I’ll ever do! Bring on the road, bring on the tour, bring on the shows… happy 20th birthday GTBL!”
